Formation classes for children and youth meet on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. during the school year.
For 3 years old – 8th grade
These lessons are tailored for the Episcopal Church and are structured around the Holy Eucharist. Lessons are also included for the church seasons and special Feast Days.
9th – 12th grade
Formation Through Service
For our older teens in 9th – 12th grades, their Sunday morning formation takes more of a servant approach with them assisting and mentoring in the classes for our younger children. Christian formation for this age group is also incorporated into EYC along with games, fellowship and sharing a meal on Sunday evenings.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
This formation offering is a Montessori approach to the religious formation of children, rooted in the Bible and the liturgy of the church. It also adheres to the educational principals of Maria Montessori, whose philosophy was to teach children with an emphasis on independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child’s intrinsic desire to learn. CGS meets on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. All children 3 years old and older are encouraged to join us.
Youth Confirmation:
For those wishing to be confirmed, those wishing to reaffirm their faith, as well as other inquiring minds! Learn about the Episcopal Church, our Anglican history, traditions and our rich liturgy and music. These classes are required for confirmation in the Episcopal Church. For those completing the classes, confirmations are done during the Bishop’s annual visitation (usually in the fall of the year).
