Neighborhood Life

The mission of All Saints’ Neighborhood Life committee clearly and concisely claims the reason for its existence: “to do God’s work in our neighborhood through service, fellowship and worship.”

The ways committee members carry out this mission cover a wide range of activities. It might be as simple as handing out orange juice and doughnuts to community members who gather to watch participants in the annual Gum Tree Run. Families and individuals who line Jefferson Street to view Tupelo’s annual Christmas Parade are treated to hot chocolate.

The Saints’ Brew Christmas Dinner, which offers a hot meal for those in need, is an annual gathering that is organized and carried out by members of Neighborhood Life. There’s a visit from Santa Claus at the dinner, bearing gifts for the children, and gifts bags are given out.

In the recent past, the Neighborhood Life committee, with its $2,200 donation, furnished a family suite in the Salvation Army Red Badge Shelter.
