Formation for Children & Youth
Formation classes for children and youth meet on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. during the school year.
Formation takes place Sunday mornings between the 8:30 am and 10:45 am services during the school year. Children ages 3 years old to 5th grade and youth from 6th – 12th grades meet separately. These lessons are tailored for the Episcopal Church and are structured around the Holy Eucharist. Lessons are included for the church seasons and special Feast Days.
This formation is offered monthly every second Wednesday after Wednesday night dinner for ages 3 years old to 5th grade. This is a Montessori approach to the religious formation of children, rooted in the Bible and liturgy of the church. It also adheres to the educational principals of Maria Montessori, whose philosophy was to teach children with an emphasis on independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child’s intrinsic desire to learn.
Childcare is available on Sundays during the 8:30 am and 10:45 am services, during Sunday School classes between the services and during the Wednesday Night Dinner and Program held monthly every second Wednesday. Please note that our nursery is NUT FREE.
The Bishop joins us each year to confirm those youth typically 12 years and older who wish to make a mature affirmation of their faith. Classes take place each fall semester for several weeks in advance of the Bishop’s visit which is typically early November.
Our youth from 6th grade to 12th grade meet twice a month on Wednesdays from 5:30 pm -7:00pm. Dinner is provided.
Our youth from Kindergarten to 5th grade meet twice a month on Sundays from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
