The acolytes are youth (5th – 12th grade) who serve with the clergy in leading worship at All Saints’. The word “acolyte” means “follower” or “one who helps.” Acolytes assist the clergy at the altar and in processions, carrying the crosses (crucifers), candles (torches), banners and flags. All parish youth are welcome to serve as acolytes, and new acolytes are trained throughout the school year.
For more information about becoming an acolyte for All Saints’, please contact the church office at (662) 842-4386.
Lectors & Intercessors
Lay Readers are privileged to help celebrate the Service of the Word during weekly liturgies. Lectors and intercessors are needed at all Sunday services to read the lessons, lead the Psalm, and lead Prayers of the People. Needed for this ministry are people with a strong, clear voice, and a love for reading Bible passages and prayers.
Please contact the church office at (662) 842-4386 to inquire about becoming a Lector or Intercessor at All Saints’.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers
Lay Eucharistic Ministers are parishioners who are trained and licensed to assist with the celebration of the Eucharist, particularly with serving the chalice at the altar rail for Sunday morning Eucharists, weekday services, funerals, weddings and Holy Days. Lay Eucharistic Ministers also take Communion to members of the congregation who may be ill, confined, hospitalized, or are otherwise unable to attend our regularly scheduled worship.
Serving in this capacity gives parishioners an opportunity to be at the heart of our worship and is an excellent way to become involved in the spiritual life of our parish. If you are interested, please contact the church office at (662) 842-4386.
